Travel + Wildlife + Environment

National parks are my greatest love. I do a minimum of four safari holidays a year (or did, before the pandemic), and all my vacations are centered around nature and wildlife. (I have a particular interest in birds and will eventually put up more about birds and birding on my blog). In my 20-year career as a travel writer, I have been to many, many – many – places and written some 1,000 articles but I shall spare you and only post a handful.

Over the years, travelling to more and more wildlife parks, I started developing a deep interest in biodiversity, environment and the climate. In 2019, I got an opportunity to write about them all as contributing editor to The Weather Channel India for a year. Some of the works are features here.

Travel: Balipara, Assam

I went on this trip only because of Kaziranga but came back dizzy with the experiences. Assam is truly neglected when it comes to tourism. Visit in the winter for a window to India’s diversity.

Wildlife: Panna, Madhya Pradesh

A wildlife park shrouded in winter fog and a lodge run by environmentalist and conservationist – read about this winning combination at Panna National Park.

Environment: Wetlands

As a birder, I am doubly invested in protecting our wetlands, but even if you don’t care for birds, you should know about the alarming state of our wetlands and why they are important.
